Formula One is the highest class of single-seat auto racing that is sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA).
A Formula One Grand Prix event spans a weekend. It begins with two free practice sessions on Friday (except in Monaco, where Friday practices are moved to Thursday), and one free practice on Saturday. The current system, in place since 2010, awards the top ten cars points in the Drivers and Constructors Championships, with the winner receiving 25 points.
